Abstract

Wind energy has transitioned from a localized alternative energy source into a pillar of the global decarbonized power system. This paper evaluates the technical, structural, and financial architecture of modern onshore and offshore Wind Power. It analyzes advancements in aerodynamic engineering, power electronics, and high-voltage grid integration. By synthesizing current data, this study examines how wind energy can provide up to 20% to 35% of global electricity generation by 2050. However, critical constraints must be resolved to achieve this potential. These include structural supply chain bottlenecks, grid congestion, long-term turbine waste recycling issues, and the need for scalable energy storage. This paper highlights the technical pathways and economic frameworks required to manage high wind penetration in modern grids.
