Abstract

There is a great need for healthcare workers all over the world especially in the United States.  The statistics show that there is going to be a shortage of healthcare professionals by 2032. According to a press release by The American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) predicts a shortage of as many as 122,000 physicians. So, healthcare organizations find it very critical to find healthcare professionals, especially nurses and doctors. Human resources executives struggle to recruit and retain healthcare professionals. The hiring process is a key part of how an organization does well. Old hiring methods do work to some degree but involve much manual effort, which can lead to inefficiencies and biases. Recently, the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has changed many fields, including human resources (HR) and recruitment. This paper looks at how AI can make the hiring process more efficient, cut down on biases, and better match candidates to roles. By examining AI's role in finding candidates, screening them, conducting interviews, and onboarding, this paper gives insights into the advantages, challenges, and ethical issues of using AI in hiring.
