Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly discussed as a core element of contemporary business management, yet the literature remains scattered across technical, managerial, and ethical perspectives. This conceptual study synthesises twenty recent scholarly and repository sources to examine how AI is understood to reshape management practice, which opportunities it creates, and which challenges accompany its adoption. A thematic reading of the sources shows consistent attention to improved decision-making, process automation, customer engagement, strategic innovation, and functional applications in human resources, supply chains, finance, and information systems. The same sources also point to ethical risks such as algorithmic bias and weak transparency, to data privacy and security concerns, to workforce disruption, and to cost, skills, and infrastructure constraints. Building on these themes, the paper proposes an integrated framework in which technological capability, organisational readiness, and responsible governance jointly determine whether AI delivers sustained value. The study concludes that AI is best understood as a tool for augmenting human judgement rather than replacing it, and it outlines implications for managers, policymakers, and future researchers.
