Abstract

The importance of financial literacy in the context of making wise financial decisions for investments has been well established. The problem is that the younger generation and non-commerce students are not well versed in financial matters. The existing financial information and tools are mostly standalone and do not offer the combined benefit of portfolio management and financial education. This paper discusses an AI-based tool named FinSage that offers financial education and an AI chatbot assistant. The tool has been designed with financial education content provided by Investopedia and an AI chatbot assistant based on the Llama 3.1 8B AI tool with the feature of Retrieval-Augmented Generation. The tool also has a feature for portfolio optimization with the yfinance API. The tool has been tested with a survey of 73 people and has shown promising results with the Goal Completion Rate of 81.8%, Customer Satisfaction Score of 72.7%, perfect Conversation Quality of 100%, and the most important feature of the tool—Hallucination Rate of 0%. The tool has also been rated as 5/5 for the clarity of the content and the usability of the tool by 63.6% and 81.8%, respectively.
