Social, Emotional, And Educational Outcomes of Children in Single-Parent Families: A Comparative Analysis
Keywords:
Abstract
Family structure plays a crucial role in shaping children's development and well-being. The increasing prevalence of single-parent families worldwide has attracted significant attention from researchers, educators, and policymakers. This study examines the social, emotional, and educational outcomes of children raised in single-parent families compared with those raised in two-parent families. Data were collected from 200 children aged 10–18 years through questionnaires, academic records, and behavioral assessments. Statistical analysis reveals moderate differences in social adjustment, emotional stability, and academic performance. While children from single-parent households face certain challenges, supportive parenting, economic stability, and community resources significantly mitigate adverse outcomes. The findings highlight the importance of targeted interventions to support children's holistic development regardless of family structure.
