Abstract

Project management practices play a critical role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects across industries. With increasing project complexity, uncertainty, and stakeholder expectations, organizations have adopted a wide range of project management methodologies and tools to improve performance outcomes. This review paper examines the evolution of project management practices, key methodologies, tools, and emerging trends. Drawing on classical and contemporary literature, the study analyzes traditional, agile, hybrid, and strategic project management approaches. A comparative analysis highlights their strengths, limitations, and contextual suitability. The review concludes that effective project management practices are adaptive, stakeholder-oriented, and strategically aligned with organizational objectives.
