Abstract

Water purification is a critical challenge globally due to increasing contamination and scarcity of fresh water resources. Graphene oxide (GO) membranes have emerged as promising materials for next-generation filtration and separation technologies due to their unique structural, chemical, and mechanical properties. This paper reviews the synthesis methods of graphene oxide membranes, their filtration mechanisms, and potential applications in water purification. The study highlights the advantages of GO membranes over conventional membranes and discusses current challenges and future research directions.
