Abstract

Blockchain technology is a groundbreaking
innovation that holds significant implications for the
future of information and currency exchange in our
globally connected society. Despite its novelty, there has
been a relatively limited amount of academic research
conducted on blockchain, but this is rapidly changing as
interest in the technology grows. Initially known
primarily as the foundation for digital currencies like
Bitcoin, blockchain has evolved to encompass a wide
range of applications.
This paper undertakes a comprehensive comparison and
compilation of various blockchain technology use cases
gathered from diverse sources such as scientific papers,
industry expert blogs, master's theses, and research
studies. The goal is to provide insights into the necessity
for developing a detailed blockchain usability model. By
examining real-world applications and case studies, this
paper aims to shed light on the practical uses of
blockchain beyond cryptocurrency, highlighting its
potential impact across various sectors and industries.
