Abstract

Results presented in the proposed paper make a case for accurate environmental monitoring and early detection of ecological changes. From the studies done, we established that reliable deep learning-based satellite image assessment methods are the future of environmental science. Due to the high accuracy for land-use and land-cover assessment that comes with these innovations, they are bound to exponentially improve the rate of detection in deforestation, urban sprawl, and the depletion of water bodies while at the same time reducing the influence of manual interpretation errors. The work fortifies good sustainable development practices through automated, data-driven environmental assessment and informs useful insights into long-term ecological management.
