POWER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT USING UPQC

Abstract

This paper presents the power quality improvement using UPQC. UPQC consists of series inverter, shunt
inverter and capacitance. Every inverter connected with pulse generator for switching on. UPQC is especially obtained to
resolve different kind of power quality drawback like reactive power compensation, voltage interruption and harmonics.
DVR is connected in series to deliver the active and reactive power to distribution network. DC-link capacitors stay high
as a result of the DVR needs a minimum amount of DC-link voltage to compensate sag. So, DC –link voltage is connected
with PV module to reduce the cost. Design of UPQC device with multi-bus system obtained using MATLAB/SIMULINK
and simulation results are mentioned to support the developed conception.
