Anti-Hyperglycaemic Effect of Glipizide Implants In Alloxan Induced Diabetic Rabbits

Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by hyperglycemia caused by defective insulin secretion, resistance to insulin action or combination of both. Frequent administration of ant diabetic drug dosage form leads to some side effects and affect on patients compliance, so there is need to develop a sustained release dosage form to enhance patients compliance and reduced dosing frequency. So attempt has been made to prepare and evaluate sub dermal biodegradable implants of Glipizide.
